Diana & I have decided to make some major transformations to our Tech Ninjas this year. 1-Meet only once a month after-school with the Tech Ninjas 2-Meet once a week with them before school for a Tech Tips(see the punch card above) 3-Allow Tech Ninjas access to the iCentre (our Makerspace) before school Here is an overview of what we currently will be doing during our monthly meeting: (Of course, it is subjected to change if we discover a new "squirrel".) September 19 : Orientation Being a Tech Leader & Expectations Intro Friday tech tip punch card Posting to Seesaw / Activity Feature Sign up for Social Media Intern (4th Grade Ninjas) Hall Carts : Ninjas assigned (make sure plugged in devices) October 17 : Seesaw Scavenger Hunt Appsmash-ChatterPix Kids/Tellagami Create in another App and upload to Seesaw November 14 : GreenScreen December 12 : Coding & Robots January 16: Coding & Robots Feb. 20 : Screencast/iMovie March 20 : Plan & Draft Paper Circuit Card/Stop Motion April 17 : Make Paper Circuit Card This year our Tech Ninjas have :
1- Used the different features of Seesaw App. 2- Done a reflection videos on the Flipgrid App. 3- Tried to create a "How to..." using the Screencastify Chrome App. 4- Used the Greenscreen App DoInk. We also have some of the Ninjas becoming our Social Media Interns. They are posting to our official school Twitter account using the #kidstweet. We have new Punch Tag for our Tech Ninjas to work on completing. This one centers around producing videos using different apps. Tech Ninja will be meeting 4 times this Spring.

PGE 22/ BES 30 Apr. 5/6 Apr. 12/13 Apr. 19/20 Below is the punch card sheet we will be starting the session with. .The activities are to review skills that we feel our TECH NINJAS should be able to do. 1)Log onto a CHROMEBOOK; 2) Create quality project on different apps; 3) Be able to troubleshoot if the camera or microphone isn't working; 4) Program a robot; 5) Communicate in 140 characters. 6) Manage & upload to your Google Drive activity and Seesaw group If they finish the punch card they can then choose to work in our iCentre or on an UCHOOSE Project. Our Winter Session will be as follows (double dates are due to one school can meet on Wednesdays and the other school needed to meet on Thursdays):
Jan. 4/5 Intro Film Festival (preview all possible type of entries)/ Genuis Bar coming next week to teach us Screencastify Introduce microphones, gopro, tripod, digital cameras…. Jan. 11/12 Genuis Bar instruction (High School students will teach Screencastify to our Tech Ninjas) Jan. 18/19 Lego Stop Motion Experience Jan. 25/26 Greenscreen / IMovie (Explore iMovie) Feb 1/2 Form production crews & work on storybds for lego stop motion or iMovie) (Tech Ninjas can come into the library before school to work on projects or make arrangements to come during or afterschool to work on projects) Feb 4/5 (TCEA) no meeting Feb 15/16 Production crewswork on project(s)…iMovie or Stop Motion Feb 22/23 Production crews work on project(s)…iMovie or Stop Motion (Give out Spring Session form & Passion form) Feb 28/Mar 1 Production crews work on project(s)…iMovie or Stop Motion During each club meeting we will be giving 1-2 minute tech tips/spotlights to help the Tech Ninjas assist with technology needs around our schools. We expect our Tech Ninjas to be student leaders and teach by example. Tech Ninjas 2016-2017 starts this week. The Fall Session will include the following:
1- unplugged coding activities 2- coding apps 3- iPad basics 4- Google Drive : THE FORCE activities 5- iCentre explorations 6- Seesaw 7- Chromebooks basics 8- Apps introductions & more.... The BES & PGE Tech Ninjas will be at the Coding Square at Keller University on Thursday, July 21. They will be demonstrating for teachers and assisting teachers with Coding activities and programming robots.
